Demonstration Flights
Delaney with a Young StudentEvergreen Soaring offers demonstration flights in two manners. If you are simply looking for a scenic flight or just to experience soaring then our demonstration flights are available for $100 on a first-come-first-served basis. You'll fly with a licensed Commercial Pilot in a two-place glider, starting with a tow to 3000' above the airport. Depending on soaring conditions, the flight will last anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour. Longer demonstration rides are available with higher tows for an addional $20 per thousand feet. Soaring is weather condition dependent so please be flexible regarding dates and times!! To take a demonstration flight, contact us to make a reservation!
For the flying enthusiast and potential glider pilot we suggest that you take your demonstration ride through the SSA FAST PROGRAM. For the price of a demonstration ride you will receive a glider pilot's logbook (to document your flight as training) the FAA soaring training manual, ground instruction and flight by a Certified Glider Flight Instructor. You will also receive a 3 month Introductory Membership in the Soaring Society of America which will enable you to continue your training prior to becoming an ES member. FAST Program packets are available at Evergreen Soaring office at Arlington Airport or by contacting us.
Getting to the Arlington Airport is easy (See map). We have a page dedicated to the airport, and it includes detailed driving directions.
Despite the stern security signs, you will find that the airport is a friendly place full of friendly people! If you're unfamiliar with the airport, just call the field phone at (425)238-6617 and someone will be happy to show you around.
