Seattle Glider Council manages the soaring facility at Ephrata where it also maintains a clubhouse and towplanes. The SGC sponsors and manages soaring contests in Region Eight, hosts an annual picnic social each June, hosts a banquet each November where awards for regional soaring achievements are given out and publishes a bi-monthly magazine, the Towline.

Puget Sound Soaring Association has some forty members, plus a 2-33, an L-13, and a 160 hp PA-18 SuperCub tow aircraft. They operate out of Bergseth Field, a private grass strip located east of Auburn and four miles north of Enumclaw.

Northwest Eagle Soaring is a commercial soaring operation based at Arlington Airport. Lynn Weller is owner, operator and certified flight instructor for gliders. They have a beautiful DG-1000 two-place glider full dual controls. Lynn offers scenic glider rides and provides instruction. Visit his website or give him a call at 425-235-1610.

Cascade Soaring Society is located at Pangborn Memorial Airport in Wenatchee, WA. This is one of the most spectacular soaring sites in the western United States. The favorable geography, excellent weather, and wide open areas give a glider pilot just the right conditions to explore the excitement of the soaring sport to its fullest extent, soaring in thermals, on the ridge, and in the wave.
