Start of the 2011 Season

The 2011 began for Evergreen Soaring with the traditional New Year’s breakfast.  It was organized (again) by John Gilbert and supported by an enthusiastic group of volunteers, who made sure that nobody was left hungry.

Flying was deferred to another day as it was too cold and nobody was eager enough to remove the frost on any glider on the line.

Next day there was enough interest and we had the first ES operation of the year.  The frost on the wings showed some interesting patterns and it took some time to remove it but the view from above was worth it.  We got 4 flights in before putting 264BA away just at sunset.
