March 27, 1997 Meeting
Evergreen Soaring Board of Directors
The meeting was called to order at 7:30PM by President Chris Chantrill at his home in Seattle. Present were John Daly, Mike Bailey, Greg Garwin, Doug Kyllo, Jerry Painter and Mike Delaney.
President Chantrill asked for reports:
Mike Bailey: Parachutes are recently packed, barographs recalibrated and the Russia will receive its periodic inspection this Saturday, all in preparation for the upcoming season. Known remaining maintenance items include the rear altimeter in Blanik N48029 (cannot be adjusted for changing barometric pressure), the Russia needs a compass and audio vario, the 1-36 also needs an audio vario.
Mike Delaney: Recently paid approximately $2000 for state sales tax and registration fees for the Russia and 1-36. State aeronautics registration will also be obtained ASAP, an addition $19 fee. The current P&L, accounts receivable aging and balance sheet were presented and discussed. Corrections and changes to the roster include Bruce Erickson, active, Bill Schlaer, Doug Turner andJim Hamilton, inactive.
Chris Chantrill reported the “Lark brake works like a dream.”
John Daly: The Icom handheld radio cannot be found and permanent radio installations are needed for the 1-36 and Russia.
General discussion followed. A towpilot meeting will be held at the Museum of Flight on April 3. The 1-36 has been taken to Wenatche and the Lark will follow Friday night. Tie down at EAT is $10/mo.
Should we obtain a telephone for the clubhouse? A cell phone? To be delegated to Tom Foster.
Do we need a 2nd 2-place ship (i.e. another Blanik to replace the 2-33)? Consensus is that since we have a $7500 payment upcoming for the Russia and uninsured damage exposure, now is not the time to make further purchases.
A spot landing contest between ES and BESA has been scheduled for April 5 at AWO.
We have a need for SSA CFIG’s. the requirement is to have 100 hrs. in gliders.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:30PM.
Respectfully submitted,
Jerry Painter, Secretary
